West Ham tipped to axe Soucek after early team news confirmed - pundit
West Ham manager David Moyes is likely to rest Tomas Soucek for tonight’s Europa League tie against Genk.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 26-year-old’s injury and form this season.
Soucek suffered a gash under his right eye during West Ham’s 1-0 win at Everton on October 17th.
Speaking to club media on Wednesday (20th October), Moyes revealed the centre-midfielder “wants to play” but could be rested for tonight’s clash.
Soucek has started all of West Ham’s Premier League games this season and has also featured in both Europa League fixtures.
When asked by Football Insider if he expected Soucek to start after his nasty injury, Campbell said: “You have to take into account the amount of games he has played as well as the injury.

“He had a full Premier League season, then a Euros and now this season has started. He has still performed well.
“The difference is, he is not scoring as many as he was last season. His goals is what made him standout. Moyes will not care so long as West Ham are winning.
“There are not many midfield partnerships better than Soucek and Declan Rice. Soucek has made a big impact since he’s arrived.
“West Ham have a lot of games this season considering they’re in Europe. I think tonight is the sort of game where might get rested. Moyes could utilise the squad for this game, for sure.”
