West Ham tipped to complete ‘brilliant’ Ake deal by Phillips
Kevin Phillips has tipped West Ham to complete the “brilliant” signing of Manchester City defender Nathan Ake in January.
The former Sunderland striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 26-year-old would provide the Hammers with “valuable experience”.
90min reported last week (2 December) that the Hammers want to seal a loan move for Ake in January with an obligation to buy.

The Hammers’ reported interest comes after Kurt Zouma suffered a hamstring tendon injury.
The France international reportedly could be out for up to 12 weeks.
Phillips insisted the Dutch defender would be a “really good addition” for the Premier League high-flyers.
“That’s a no-brainer for West Ham,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s not getting a huge amount of game time at Man City. He’s the type of player who needs to be playing regularly. Ake is a brilliant defender.
“With Zouma and Ogbonna out injured he would be a really good addition to their squad.
“He would give them some valuable experience as well, having played in Europe and won the title with Man City.
West Ham stalwart Angelo Ogbonna will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
As such, David Moyes only has Issa Diop and Craig Dawson available at centre-back right now.
Ake has made just four Premier League starts for City so far this term, having helped City win a domestic double last season.

West Ham are still fighting on four fronts this season having progressed in the League Cup and Europa League.
The Hammers lie fourth in the Premier League table.
In other news, pundit claims West Ham may be about to sign the perfect Antonio partner in 33 goal/assist star.
