West Ham tipped to submit £25m Youri Tielemans offer after source’s transfer reveal – pundit

West Ham could seal a £25million move for Leicester star Youri Tielemans if they can secure European football next season, according to Noel Whelan.

The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 24-year-old “deserves” to be playing in continental competition.

According to The Telegraph (31 March), Leicester are willing to sanction the sale of midfielder Tielemans for just £25million this summer with his contract set to expire in 2023.

West Ham have been extensively linked with the Belgian in recent months – alongside top-six rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man United.

This site revealed last month (24 March) that the Irons have made it a top priority to sign a new midfielder this summer – in a bid to add competition and cover for Declan Rice and his regular midfield partner Tomas Soucek.

When asked if West Ham could pull off a move for Tielemans, he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge: “I think they could.

“He’s got everything, hasn’t he? Goals from outside the box, creativity, works hard, dictates the game, very competitive. And he’s at a good age – the best is yet to come.

“Leicester will be forced to let him go because players like Tielemans deserve to be playing in Europe.

“If West Ham could offer him that, then him joining really would not surprise me.

With the likes of Benrahma around him, David Moyes could have some really good options next season.”

Former Monaco man Tielemans, who captained Belgium during the most recent international break, has amassed 49 caps for Roberto Martinez’s side.

West Ham sit seventh in the Premier League and face a Europa League quarter-final against Lyon.
