West Ham to complete four signings in next month after deal agreed – sources

West Ham are confident of completing a stunning signing spree by the end of June, sources have told Football Insider.

The Hammers are working on signing four players before the end of next month as Julen Lopetegui looks to stamp his authority on the squad.

There is a big focus on improving West Ham’s defensive options, with up to three potential new defenders coming through the door after conceding the fourth-most goals in the Premier League across the past season.

Football Insider revealed on 23 May the Irons have agreed personal terms with Brazil international Fabricio Bruno ahead of a potential move to the London Stadium from Flamengo.

Sources say the initial fee will be £10million and could rise to £12.5million in add-ons as a deal is now close for the 28-year-old centre-back, whose contract with the Rio de Janeiro-based side runs until 2028.

Julen Lopetegui to add West Ham defensive reinforcements

Lopetegui is keen to tighten things up at the back after West Ham conceded 74 goals in the Premier League under David Moyes.

The Spanish boss is currently assessing the squad after replacing the Scotsman as the new Hammers manager ahead of next season.

Bruno looks set to potentially be Lopetegui’s first signing for the club after he’s impressed during his two-year stint with Flamengo.

The defender earned his first call-up to the Brazilian national side in March and played the full 90 minutes in both games against England and Spain.

West Ham are believed to be working on signing another centre-back this summer, paving the way for some of the current options to leave east London once the transfer market reopens next month.
