West Ham to sell Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus for ‘huge fees’ – expert
West Ham United could be forced to sell both Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus this summer if they fail to qualify for Europe.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie claimed the pair have huge ambitions which may go unfulfilled at the London Stadium next season.
The midfielders have been standouts for the inconsistent Hammers this season, with Kudus bagging 13 goals and four assists in his debut season while the versatile Paqueta has notched eight goals and seven assists.
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a departure from Stratford, with Football Insider revealing (31 March) that Man City “will return” with a bid for the former Lyon star.
Kudus and Paqueta to both leave West Ham this summer?
Pundits and fans alike have also suggested that Kudus has the ability to excel at a Champions League-level club which has fueled speculation regarding his long-term future at West Ham.
McAvennie claimed that the pair would command “huge” fees but urged the club to keep hold of them.
“I’m very concerned about losing players if we don’t qualify for Europe,” he told Football Insider.
“Especially Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta as these boys have ambition.
“I’m hoping that Mr Sullivan isn’t going to sell them – that wouldn’t be good for anyone.
“You never know with that board, sometimes they shock you.
“Watch this space really because if I was them, you’d think they’d sell Paqueta and Kudus because they’d get really good money for him.
“They could go for huge fees.
“Kudus is a great player, he’s strong and doesn’t lose the ball.

“Paqueta is the same, except sometimes he does lose the ball!
“I hope the two of them stay, but I am concerned.”
