West Ham told to U-turn on Vladimir Coufal after source’s transfer update – pundit

Paul Robinson is “surprised” by Vladimir Coufal’s downturn in form at West Ham over the past 12 months.

However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one is adamant the Hammers should keep hold of the 30-year-old.

Coufal has been a bit-part player for David Moyes’s side in the Premier League this season.

Sources told Football Insider last week (25 November) that West Ham are willing to sell the right-back in the January window for just £6million.

Coufal’s contract at the London Stadium expires at the end of next June, but the club have the option of triggering an extension.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Coufal’s future, Robinson said: “I’ve been a bit surprised by his form of late.

“It has been very up and down over the past 12 months. He has been far from his best.

“I don’t think the rotation has helped him in all honesty. You have to remember that the team has been up and down as well.

“I don’t think European football has helped them in all honesty. It seems to have come at the cost of their league form.

“I still think Coufal has a lot to offer West Ham. I like him. He is a top full-back who they would do well to replace for less than £10million.

“It is hard to be at your best when your teams is struggling.”

In other news, pundit has issued an emphatic verdict on West Ham signing Craig Dawson replacement after update.
