West Ham told to accept Danny Ings offer – expert
West Ham United have been told to accept an offer for Danny Ings ahead of January as he is a poor fit for the club’s style of play.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie was baffled that they bought the Englishman at all considering they do not create enough chances for him to thrive.
As revealed by Football Insider (16 December), the club are willing to sell the 31-year-old this January despite David Moyes being a “big fan” of him.

Ings moved from Aston Villa to Stratford for £15million in January but has failed to make an impression with just three goals in 39 appearances in all competitions.
McAvennie admitted that Ings is a “great” striker who “comes to life” in the penalty area, but feels it is time for him to move on.
“I don’t know who bought Danny Ings,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s a good player, but he’s a striker and not a player that West Ham need.
“They do not create the amount of chances that Ings feeds off of.
“He comes to life in the 18-yard box. West Ham need to play with someone who can hold up the ball if Michail Antonio isn’t there.
“When the brought the boy Sebastien Haller, he played in a front three for Dortmund, came here and they played him on his own – he couldn’t do it!

“Same with Ings, I don’t know why they bought him. I’m sorry to say but West Ham at the moment are not the team for him, they should accept the offer on the table and let him go.”
