West Ham told to sign ‘catalyst’ in January to transform their season
West Ham United are having an abysmal season and need something to click in order to turn their campaign around.
The East London side are in big trouble under Nuno Espirito Santo, with their Premier League status hanging in the balance.
Espirito Santo replaced Graham Potter at the London Stadium at the end of September, but has yet to record his first win in charge of the Hammers.
West Ham are now being tipped for relegation, and currently sit 19th in the Premier League, already four points adrift of safety.

West Ham must stick with Nuno Espirito Santo
Despite only being appointed at the end of last month, Espirito Santo is already coming under pressure at West Ham.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that East London side must stick with the former Nottingham Forest boss.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that the owners have to invest in the side in January, rather than continuously changing managers.
Wyness added that West Ham need to sign a catalyst who will turn their season around.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “They’ve got to stick with Nuno. He’s proven to be capable in the past.
“I don’t think you’re really going to have a much better option than Nuno. I don’t know who you’d bring in. He’s experienced. He’s handling the situation well. He’s saying all the right things. So I think he’s going to be there, and he’s going to be with them up or down. He’s the right choice right now.
“I think it’s more about squad dynamics and I think they’re going to have to show the fans some investment. They need to sign some catalysts in January to try and turn things around. It’s not too late.
“There’s a lot of unhappiness there, a lot of unhappiness with Sullivan and Brady. It’s manifested itself over a number of seasons now, but when it comes to a head like this, they’re going to have to do something to turn the fans around.
“But Nuno is the right one. I think they will stick with him because to change again would be just irresponsible.”
West Ham’s three-man January signing plan
Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that West Ham have a three-man signing plan for the January transfer window.

It is evident that the East London side need reinforcements, and the club will be looking to address three positions in particular.
Sources say that West Ham’s primary target in the transfer window will be a centre-forward.
They would also like to strengthen in central midfield and central defence if finances allow.
