West Ham told to sign Man United midfielder Scott McTominay for ‘£40m’ – ‘I’ve heard,’ says expert

Scott McTominay is going to quit Man United this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said he would like to see McTominay at the London Stadium and has backed a deal to be done for £40million.

The 26-year-old’s current contract at United runs until 2025 but in May Football Insider revealed that the Scotland international is pushing to leave Old Trafford this summer.

The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag and is keen to play more regularly and is willing to leave the Red Devils to do so.

Last month (10 June), Football Insider revealed that Everton are likely to be in the race for McTominay with interest from fellow Premier League sides West Ham and Newcastle United.

United are willing to listen to offers for the midfielder but it could cost more than £20m to complete a deal this summer.

McAvennie is in no doubt that McTominay‘s future lies away from Manchester.

McTominay is going to move on I have heard,” he told Football Insider.

There are a lot of players that are going to be moving out.

I think McTominay could go for around £30-£40m.

Man United

I would like to see him at West Ham. He has never been a Man United players but he would do a great job somewhere like West Ham.

He has just never fit in at Man United. I have always thought he is a good player but just never quite did it at United.
