West Ham told to sign ‘perfect’ Lukas Fabianski ally after £12m news – pundit
Kevin Campbell has backed West Ham to sign Nick Pope this summer to provide the “perfect challenge” for first-choice stopper Lukas Fabianski.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Hammers need “two top keepers” as they vie for European football next term.
According to The Times (19 April), West Ham are weighing up a move for Burnley ‘keeper Pope, 30, with a decision set to be made on whether to make Alphonse Areola’s London Stadium spell a permanent one.

The report claims the England international is expected to leave Turf Moor if the Clarets are relegated – and would cost around £12million.
Areola, who has kept eight clean sheets in 16 Irons appearances this term, is reportedly available on a permanent basis for £10.5million.
Campbell suggested Fabianski would maintain his role as first-choice shot-stopper next season.
“I think Fabianski has done really well this season,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“He’s played really well when they’ve beaten a lot of the big sides over the last two years. Their defence has been okay as a whole, and they’ve obviously struggled with injuries.
“But you do need two top keepers. Maybe that’s what they want to do, get him a challenger in this summer window.
“Nick Pope would certainly provide that perfect challenge for Fabianski.”

Fabianski, 37, is out of contract at the end of the season, but David Moyes has already confirmed he will be staying beyond this summer.
The 57-time Poland international has kept eight clean sheets in 33 appearances this term.
