West Ham told to sign striker 'better than Michail Antonio' as source reveals a top target - pundit
West Ham need to sign a striker “better” than Michail Antonio this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed there is no reason why West Ham cannot go into the 2022-23 Premier League season with two top strikers.
A Hammers source told Football Insider earlier this month (4 June) that Chelsea forward Armando Broja is a top target and the club have registered their interest.
The 20-year-old spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan with Southampton where he scored nine goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.
“I think they should be looking for someone better or just as good [as Antonio],” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“All this nonsense talk that you can’t have two top strikers and Spurs have showed that with Harry Kane. Yes, you can, you can rotate.

“West Ham are in Europe again with the Europa Conference League. You’ve got enough games to have two top strikers.
“Antonio as well, last season (2021-22), blew hot and cold. At the start of the season, he was hot and talking about wanting to get 20 Premier League goals then his form wasn’t very good in the last part of the season.
“West Ham definitely need to look at a top striker. They tried to bring in Haller who maybe wasn’t a top striker. They can’t be doing that.
“Clubs are allowed two top striker. Aston Villa do it with [Ollie] Watkins and [Danny] Ings, Man City have done it and Chelsea have got [Kai] Havertz and [Romelu] Lukaku. There’s no harm in having two top strikers.”
