West Ham transfers: McAvennie makes bold Mohammed Kudus claim

West Ham trio Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, and Lucas Paqueta will all be key as the East London club seek to challenge for European qualification this season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, ex-Hammers striker Frank McAvennie believes Kudus, 24, alongside Bowen and Paqueta, both 27, are good enough to get into any team across the Premier League.

The players have featured together in three of West Ham’s Premier League games this season, with losses to Man City and Aston Villa, but a victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Together, they recorded an impressive 70 goal contributions across all competitions last season, with captain Bowen leading the way with 30.

Kudus is the only one of the three players yet to get on the scoresheet this season, Bowen and Paqueta are joint leaders on the club’s scoring charts with one goal each.

Once the international break is over, the East Londoners will travel west to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, September 14th.

“I think Kudus, Paqueta, and Bowen could play in any team”, McAvennie told Football Insider.

“They’re good enough to walk into any side in England, we’ve got a really good basis there.

“Kudus didn’t do too well the week before (vs Bournemouth) but he can hold the ball, you can’t get it off him.

“I think he’s so powerful, he’s so strong, he’ll get us goals. When you play against a team like Man City, good players step up and that’s what he did.

“I’m happy he’s ours, the window is shut and we’re keeping all three of them.”
