‘West Ham told cut-price valuation for striker target Lucas Stassin’
West Ham United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Saint-Etienne striker Lucas Stassin as Graham Potter looks to bolster his forward line.
The Hammers endured a largely disappointing Premier League season, finishing just 14th in the top flight despite winning two of their last three games.
Jarrod Bowen finished the season as the East London club’s top scorer in the Premier League, notching 13 goals in 34 league appearances.
But the next highest scorer for Potter’s men was midfielder Tomas Soucek, who is set to leave West Ham this summer.

Saint-Etienne will accept cut price for Stassin after relegation amid West Ham interest
Stassin scored 12 goals in 28 Ligue 1 appearances for Saint-Etienne this term, even though Erik Horneland’s men suffered relegation to Ligue 2.
According to The Mail [6 June], the French club are likely to accept a cut price of £18million for the 20-year-old’s services after being relegated.
Stassin showed his class in the final third when he notched a brace against Lyon on 20 April, helping Saint-Etienne to a 2-1 win.

West Ham are in the race to sign Kyle Walker-Peters
West Ham’s priority this summer is to sign a new striker, hence their interest in Stassin, who boasts potential for the future and could be ready for the challenge posed by the Premier League.

But while the 20-year-old has shown his attacking ability in the French top flight, Potter must strengthen his ranks in all areas of the pitch after suffering a poor season.
Football Insider have exclusively revealed that West Ham want to sign Kyle Walker-Peters, but face competition from David Moyes’ Everton, Brighton, and Fulham in the race for the right-back.
Walker-Peters is set to leave Southampton after the Saints endured their second relegation in three seasons, but he could be a successful acquisition for suitors in the transfer market, having earned Premier League experience with both the South Coast outfit and his former club Tottenham.
Meanwhile, Ian Darke exclusively spoke to West Ham Zone about the Hammers’ chances of signing Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City.
