‘West Ham want Jacob Ramsey as Aston Villa face PSR sacrifice’
West Ham have entered the frame to sign Jacob Ramsey as Aston Villa face a fight to meet Profit and Sustainability Regulations after missing out on qualification for the Champions League.
While this season has generally been an impressive one for Unai Emery‘s side, it did end in disappointment on Suday (25 May).
A controversial defeat to Man United for Aston Villa meant the Midlands club have missed out on a place in Europe’s top club competition for next season.
That also means they will not receive the financial windfall they otherwise would have done, which is now starting to tempt clubs to show an interest in the likes of Ramsey.

West Ham enter Jacob Ramsey transfer battle
Several of Villa’s Premier League rivals have already been touted with a move for the 23-year-old in the lead-up to the summer transfer window.
A swap deal involving Ramsey and Newcastle winger Harvey Barnes has previously been suggested, although they are not the only ones who are keen.
Football Insider has also been told that Aston Villa are “vulnerable” to approaches from Arsenal and Tottenham for the wide man, and interest continues to grow.
According to a new update from the Daily Mail, Ramsey is also popular at West Ham, suggesting they are another club who could move for him in the market.
That comes as Hammers boss Graham Potter looks to overhaul his Hammers side after a dismal campaign in East London.
It is also noted that the sale of the winger would give Aston Villa a “PSR-friendly profit”, given his status as a homegrown player.

Football Insider Verdict
It is going to be hugely frustrating for Unai Emery and co. if they are forced to let Ramsey go this summer for PSR reasons.
They will feel that had it not been for the huge error in disallowing Morgan Rogers’ goal against Man United, they would have gone on to qualify for the Champions League for next season.
That in turn would have earned them a much bigger financial windfall, and reduced the need for them to potentially sell key young players such as Ramsey.
With that in mind that decision is going to feel like an even bigger injustice now for Aston Villa, given the impact it could have on their squad in the future.
Considering the hugely disappointing campaign that West Ham endured by comparison, losing Ramsey to them in spite of that would only add insult to injury for the Midlands club.
As a result, it is hard to imagine anyone around Villa Park being all too pleased with this situation.
