What Cristiano Ronaldo just said after being asked if Arsenal can win the Premier League title
Cristiano Ronaldo has offered his verdict on whether Arsenal can win the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years.
The Gunners have made a stunning start to the 2025/26 campaign and are currently setting the pace ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table.
Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday (November 1) extended their advantage at the top, while Man City’s 3-1 victory against Bournemouth saw them claw back the deficit to six.
A title charge is built on a strong defence, and Mikel Arteta’s men have been the best in the division, conceding just three goals across 15 matches in all competitions and none in their last seven.
Mick Brown also told Football Insider that Arsenal’s strength from set pieces makes them title favourites, while Cristiano Ronaldo has now offered his verdict.

Cristiano Ronaldo thinks Arsenal can win the Premier League
Speaking in an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo was asked about whether Arsenal could win the Premier League, and he replied: “Could be, it’s possible. I think the Premier League, the level of the teams it’s very very similar, the top ones.

“I mean, with the Premier League you never know what’s going to happen, it’s very difficult, very tough league. But Manchester not going to win the league for sure, because they have so many points behind right now. It’s possible yes, but I don’t believe on that. Arsenal, probably.”
Gunners fan Morgan then tried to extract a more definitive answer from the former Manchester United superstar.
“I need the big dog to give us the yes, let’s see it come out of your lips “yes, Arsenal will win the league,” Morgan said.
Ronaldo replied: “Yes, Arsenal can win the league.”
Arsenal fans will be delighted to hear that response, even if it was drawn out of him, ahead of a pivotal period in their season.

Ronaldo almost joined Arsenal before Man United
Many Gunners supporters are aware that arguably the greatest player ever came close to joining Arsenal before moving to Manchester United for £12million in 2003.
In another interview with Piers Morgan in 2019, which aired on ITV, the Portuguese superstar spoke of how he was just ‘one step’ away from putting pen to paper in north London.
“It’s true. Very close. One stop, incredible. Seriously,” Ronaldo said. Meanwhile, after Morgan pressed the Portuguese superstar for an apology for choosing United over Arsenal, the forward jokingly said: “I want to apologise, OK. Forgive me for not joining Arsenal.”
Ronaldo is now closing in on 1000 career goals at Al-Nassr, but if he had joined Arsenal ahead of their Premier League rivals over two decades ago, perhaps they would have already broken their title curse.
