What Crystal Palace fans hilariously chanted at Arne Slot during Liverpool win

Liverpool and Crystal Palace clashed in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, and it was the visitors who had the last laugh.

Liverpool entered this showdown on the back of four defeats in their last five in all competitions, while the Eagles are winless in their last four.

Crystal Palace were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal on Sunday (October 26) after a battling display last time out, whereas Liverpool lost 3-2 to Brentford.

The two sides came into this game in poor form, but crucially, it was Oliver Glasner who named a much stronger starting lineup at Anfield in a bid to reach the fifth round.

What Crystal Palace fans chanted at Arne Slot

Arne Slot made 10 changes to his Liverpool team that lost against the Bees, including starts for teenage trio Trey Nyoni, Rio Ngumoha and Kieran Morrison.

The Dutchman also handed out appearances for fringe players Freddie Woodman, Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo as the Reds showed how much this competition meant to them.

Palace, on the other hand, saw this fixture as a real opportunity to progress in the competition and win more silverware this season.

Glasner named an almost full-strength starting lineup, which included the likes of Ismaila Sarr, Daniel Munoz, and Maxence Lacroix.

And it was Sarr who scored a first-half brace at Anfield to put his side in a commanding position, with Palace fans mocking Slot in the process.

‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ rang out from the away end as pressure continues to pile on the home boss.

Slot being exposed at Liverpool

Slot earned lots of praise in the bank after delivering Liverpool the Premier League title during his first campaign in charge.

But he inherited a squad that was assembled by Jurgen Klopp, and the Dutchman only had to fine-tune his system to get the desired results.

Since then, Liverpool lost key players in Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz, while Slot splurged over £440million on new signings.

Worryingly, only the arrival of Hugo Ekitike has looked like a success, with record signing Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez notably struggling.

Slot is now under pressure to turn things around at Anfield, and after being knocked out of the Carabao Cup, already one shot at winning silverware is gone.
