Salty Pep Guardiola reacts instantly after Man City concede late penalty vs Monaco
Manchester City faced late disappointment after a 90th-minute Eric Dier penalty left Pep Guardiola’s side having to settle for a point away from home.
Guardiola praised Bernardo Silva in the build-up to the Portuguese midfielder’s return to the club he once called home.
Phil Foden impressed for Man City, who led for much of the contest before a controversial penalty decision gave Monaco a late lifeline.
Erling Haaland wowed Glenn Hoddle as the Norwegian scored twice to increase his goals tally this season to 11 goals in eight matches in all competitions.

Pep Guardiola fumes at penalty decision vs Monaco
Monaco were gifted a penalty late on after Nico Gonzalez was adjudged to have hit Eric Dier with a high boot in the Man City box.
In his post-match press conference, Guardiola spoke about the penalty, saying: “A really good game. We made some decisions, we created a lot of chances.
“Unfortunately, at the end we defended an unfair free-kick not perfectly, and we conceded a penalty that [Nico Gonzalez] touched the ball first, no intention. But it is what it is.”
Guardiola will hope his side can recover from their late despair as they take on Brentford in the Premier League ahead of the October international break.
Erling Haaland shines once again as Man City chase more silverware
After beating Napoli 2-0, Man City were aiming to take all three points away from Monaco, but Guardiola will settle for a point.
City have started their Champions League campaign well and might have felt they should have left the principality with more than a point.
