Whelan delivers bold Harrison prediction after ‘fabulous’ Leeds footage emerges

Noel Whelan has tipped Leeds United winger Jack Harrison to better his tally of goals and assists from last season this term.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites striker claimed the 24-year-old and his teammate Raphinha are as good as any wingers in the Premier League on their day.

Harrison showed flashes of brilliance on Saturday, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side came from behind twice to draw 2-2 against Everton.

The winger, who contributed eight goals and eight assists while on loan at Leeds last season, completed a permanent move to Elland Road last month.

Whelan has been impressed by what he’s seen from Harrison in the opening two games.

“We know the fabulous ability Jack Harrison possesses,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“He has such quick feet and he has great agility on the ball. It doesn’t surprise me to see skill like that from him now. He is doing it consistently as well.

“He has grown into that Leeds United shirt even though he was not our player permanently until this season.

“His ability on the ball will trouble so many defenders this season. He manipulates the ball so well.

“It is exciting times for him. Everyone is still getting up to speed this season but he is showing good signs.

“I think he can better his number from last season, I really do. It is all about improving and bettering yourself.

“Our two wingers, on their day, are as good as anything in the Premier League.

“People realise how dangerous he can be so he will be marked closely this season.”
