Noel Whelan has insisted Jack Harrison’s value is set to rocket to £15million following his recent Leeds United transformation.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider editor Wayne Veysey, the ex-Leeds forward has been blown away by Harrison’s improvement in recent weeks.
The winger, 22, had a mixed start to his second season on loan at United after an up-and-down debut campaign but he is now in the form of his life.
He has supplied assists for Leeds goals in four of their last five league matches and scored his second of the season in Saturday’s 2-0 win over QPR.
Whelan is convinced that Harrison is such a talent he will be worth £15million by the end of the season.
“Harrison’s turning into a gem,” Whelan told Football Insider. “He’s fitter, stronger, more confident and has more belief in his ability. You need to have belief in your ability to shine at the highest level and we’re starting to see that from him.
“He works tirelessly and does superb things for the team. Now he is adding assists to his game, and is starting to win matches.
“Marcelo Bielsa has showed enormous faith in him and he’s been transformed. I expect him to be worth £15million by the end of the season if this continues.
“He’s unlikely to be in Man City’s squad next season so he could make a permanent move.”
Harrison, who is on his second consecutive season-long loan from Manchester City, has started all 15 of Leeds’ Championship matches this season.
In 58 matches for United, the left winger has scored six goals and provided eight assists.
In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that Newcastle United held an Elland Road transfer mission on Saturday.
