Whelan thrilled by Danjuma 'trying to force move a to Leeds'
Noel Whelan has suggested players want to move to Leeds United thanks to the style of play under Marcelo Bielsa.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker claimed the Whites played “some of the most attractive football in the Premier League” last season.
Speaking to Dutch football news outlet Voetbal International, Bournemouth winger Arnaut Danjuma namedropped Leeds United as an ideal destination as he looks to leave the Championship.
Whelan admitted it was an “honour” to hear the 24-year-old speak so highly of the Whites.
He suggested the attractive football would be a big lure for other players.
“I think that’s testament to the style of football that we play,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.

“It’s testament to Marcelo Bielsa, the players that have bought into everything that has been asked from them from the manager.
“I will gladly go out there on record saying I do think we played some of the most attractive football in the Premier League. We were an absolute pleasure to watch.
“A great introduction to the Premier League. Never was any game a dull game, pretty much, when Leeds United were playing. That is a brand and style we want to play.
“Hence why they’re digging up the pitch and spending millions and millions of pounds on it. We like to play fast-flowing attacking football.
“To do so we need to spend money in the right place that’s going to complement the players we have at the football club.
“It is a great honour that other players from other clubs have recognised the style of play and he’s trying to force a move to Leeds.”
