Why Leeds 22-year-old is underrated this season
COMMENT By Dominic Toner
Leeds midfielder Hadi Sacko is a hugely underrated player in Garry Monk’s side.
The 22-year-old has been one of the standout names in the team this season and showcased his abilities on Wednesday night against Liverpool.
The Whites slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Anfield in the EFL Cup quarter-finals after pushing the Premier League opposition close.
Sacko was excellent against Liverpool and constantly tormented full-back Alberto Moreno, while also proving dangerous on the counter attack.
Leeds stars such as Pontus Jansson, Chris Wood and Charlie Taylor have been crucial to the club’s play-off push, but Sacko is a player who has gone under the radar.

The winger is currently on loan at Elland Road from Sporting Lisbon with a view to a permanent move and has added a great attacking threat to the side.
He has already made 21 appearances across all competitions for Garry Monk’s side and is one of the most consistent performers.
Sacko’s weakness has certainly been in front of goal, scoring just once for the Whites and he was guilty of missing good chances against Liverpool.
The wide man should be forgiven for his goalscoring touch and at 22 still has plenty of time to improve.
He has supplied four assists for the Yorkshire club and his flair is something that has caught the attention of the club’s supporters.
Sacko possesses both speed and skill on the ball, something that is proving difficult for defences in the Championship to deal with.
Leeds are currently fifth-placed in the league table and have aspirations of making the play-off this season, but will need their pacy winger to continue his impressive performances if they are to continue their form.
Sacko offers more trickery to the side than the more conventional winger Stuart Dallas and certainly adds a different dimension to their play.
