Leeds must offer a new deal to 25-year-old that divides opinion
COMMENT By Dominic Toner
Souleymane Doukara is certainly a player that splits opinion with the Leeds fans as his performances can be very hit and miss.
The 25-year-old is currently set to leave Elland Road at the end of the season when his contract expires.
However, the Whites should certainly look to hand the attacker a new contract as he has played an important role in the club’s push for promotion.
Doukara has made 32 appearances this season across all competitions and has been a regular feature under Garry Monk.
The wide man, who can also play as a central striker, is often criticised due to his ability on the ball.

He may not be the most technically gifted in the Leeds squad or the most pleasing on the eye, but he has proved to be hard working player for Monk.
Doukara is also remarkably Leeds’ second highest goal scorer this season behind talisman Chris Wood.
The attacker has managed five goals across all competitions, including a memorable strike against Nottingham Forest in January.
Leeds are currently fourth-placed in the Championship and look set to compete in the play-offs as they aim for a long-awaited return to the Premier League.
Doukara has played an important role in their success this campaign and it would surely be wrong to let the first teamer disappear in the summer.
His position has been under serious threat all season as he competes alongside the likes of Alfonso Pedraza, Kemar Roofe, Mo Barrow and Hadi Sacko for a starting spot.
However, he has continued to be a vital asset for the squad and deserves another chance to compete at Elland Road next season.
In other Leeds news, Harry Redknapp has delivered his verdict on the club’s promotion chances.
