‘Why start a fight?’, ‘Bang out of order’ – Leeds fans rage as new Crysencio Summerville bust-up footage emerges
Leeds United fans have slammed Coventry City defender Bobby Thomas as “pathetic” after he instigated a bust-up with Crysencio Summerville after their clash on Saturday (16 December).
Thomas bagged the equaliser to sink the Whites at Elland Road in their 1-1 draw leaving Daniel Farke’s side without a win in their last two Championship games.
The post-match fight was sparked after Summerville seemingly refused to shake Thomas’ hand – but things escalated very quickly after.
The Sky Blues man grabbed the Leeds man in retaliation for being ignored which caused Summerville to lash out and push the 22-year-old.
The livid attacker, who bagged the opener, had to be restrained by his fellow teammates with the tensions of the tie spilling over after the full-time whistle.
Thomas claimed after that game that the scrap was Summerville’s fault as he felt “there was no respect there”, but Leeds fans are not buying that and have taken to social media to defend their “goat”.
One supporter believed that Thomas was seeking such a reaction from Summerville.
This fan did not rate the defender’s actions one bit.
This fan was adamant that Thomas’ insecurities motivated the escalation of the bust-up.
This supporter urged Thomas to simply “move on” rather than start an unnecessary confrontation.
This fan was baffled as to why the fight was sparked in the first place.
One fan blamed the referees for not protecting the players during the game.
