Why Bruce must change plan and start this Aston Villa 21-year-old against Norwich

COMMENT by Amir Mir

Jack Grealish hit a stunning late winner against Wigan on Saturday afternoon to help Aston Villa clinch a crucial three points on home soil.

The 21-year-old has been in tremendous form for the promotion hopefuls this term, but he has not started an away game since Steve Bruce’s arrival in mid-October.

The promotion expert has instead opted to play three midfielders in a bid to nullify and frustrate their opponents on the road.

However, he should now change his tactics against Norwich at Carrow Road on Tuesday night and play the club’s academy graduate and dangerman-in-chief.

Villa looked very lacklustre against Wigan at the weekend, but every time Grealish was on the ball, he was able to spark the game into life.

That resulted in him scoring a magnificent curling effort from outside the box to win the points for the home side with two minutes to spare.

Additionally, the Midlands giants have only picked up one point on the road in their last two games and a win is desperately required if they are to close their four point gap on the top six.

Grealish, who has scored three goals and supplied four assists in 15 league games, can do that, if he is selected in the starting XI against Alex Neil’s side.

In other Aston Villa news, supporters on Twitter don’t understand why the club are linked with this Manchester United player.
