Final chance: Tottenham outcast must seize opportunity to convince Pochettino against Wycombe
COMMENT By Dominic Toner
Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen needs to find the back of the net on Saturday against Wycombe as his season reaches a critical stage.
The 22-year-old moved to White Hart Lane in the summer and has been given time to settle, but could be playing for his Spurs future at the weekend.
The forward has become out-of-favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino since his £17million switch from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar and has been left out of the matchday squad for the last three consecutive Premier League games.
He has managed just three goals in 23 appearances this season and all of them have come from the penalty spot.
Janssen was not expected to take English football by storm and was always purchased to provide competition for first-choice striker Harry Kane, but he is yet to suggest he can be a regular Spurs starter.

The Holland international has shown that he can link-up play well and it was hoped he could emulate his goal tally of 32 goals in 49 appearances for AZ.
However, he has shown very little composure in front of goal and looks extremely low on confidence.
Janssen has the perfect opportunity to kickstart his Spurs career on Saturday and needs to firmly grab the opportunity he is expected to get, which could be his final chance to impress Pochettino ahead of a busy programme.
If the striker fails to make an impression against the League Two opposition it’s difficult to see how he could challenge in Spurs’ squad.
