Wilfried Gnonto ‘is staying’ at Leeds United after source’s reveal – fans react

Leeds United fans are convinced Wilfried Gnonto will remain at the club this summer after Everton agreed a deal to sign Jesper Lindstrom.

Football Insider revealed that Everton have reached a loan-to-buy agreement with Napoli to sign the winger, who is set to jet in for a medical this week.

The Merseyside club had prioritised signing a new winger this summer to strengthen their squad, and had been heavily linked with a move to sign Gnonto.

However, after reaching a deal to sign Lindstrom, Leeds fans believe the Premier League outfit will turn their attention away from the Italian.

Leeds United fans think Wilfried Gnonto ‘is staying’ after Everton twist

Gnonto has been on Everton’s list of targets since last summer when he went on strike in a bid to force the move through.

However, he remained at Elland Road and featured 44 times under Daniel Farke, scoring nine goals and providing three assists last season.

Leeds fans remain hopeful of keeping him at the club beyond this summer and are now convinced he will be staying.

This news came shortly after the Italian winger was pictured in the club’s new away kit release and featured heavily in training clips, in what fans believe are more hints about his future.

In other news, Everton have told striker he’s free to leave the club.
