Wilfried Gnonto: Update on another ‘huge’ Leeds exit – sources
Leeds United are hopeful of keeping Wilfried Gnonto at the club past the 30 August transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say the Whites are under no pressure to sell and meet financial rules after parting with several key men since the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
Georginio Rutter, Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville have all left Elland Road for huge fees this summer.
Glen Kamara has also departed just 12 months after joining the Yorkshire giants.
Gnonto has been a target for clubs in the Premier League and overseas since his breakthrough in England with Leeds.
Football Insider revealed last month (16 July) that Everton are in contact with the Italy international’s camp over a proposed move to Goodison Park.

But Leeds are now confident of keeping Gnonto as a key part of their bid for promotion back to the Premier League.
He has already scored once in three appearances across all competitions in the new campaign.

The winger scored nine goals and contributed three assists in 44 games last season as Leeds lost against Southampton in the playoff final at Wembley.
Daniel Farke’s side have started the new season with two draws from two Championship games and have already been dumped out of the League Cup.
