Wilfried Gnonto news emerges as Leeds ‘mass exodus’ begins – sources

Leeds United ace Wilfried Gnonto is attracting interest from multiple Serie A sides ahead of the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that there will be a “mass exodus” at Elland Road over the summer.

Leeds fell just short of returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking after losing 1-0 to Southampton in the play-off final.

With the Yorkshire club now set to remain in the Championship in 2024-25, they are facing a summer firesale to raise funds in order to comply with financial regulations.

As revealed by Football Insider, Leeds are now under pressure to raise £150million in player sales this summer.

Gnonto is one of many first-team stars who could leave Elland Road this summer with the Italian winger attracting interest from his native country.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke said: “There will be interest in Wilfried Gnonto from Italy and Serie A sides as well as others across Europe.

So at Elland Road they will batten down the hatches because there will be a mass exodus – I have no doubts about that.

There will be players who will leave if and Leeds have to try and balance their books.
