Wilfried Nancy must unleash 100% pass-completion Celtic player vs Livingston, his stats are insane

Wilfried Nancy must consider starting James Forrest after his goal-scoring cameo in Celtic’s 3-1 victory over Aberdeen on Sunday.

The winger netted a late third for the Hoops, as they picked up their first win under the new manager.

Nancy was in dire need of a victory at Celtic after losing his first four matches in charge, including a Premier Sports Cup final against St. Mirren.

Therefore, when Forrest slotted the ball into the net after Callum McGregor’s pass, it would have been a huge relief for the Frenchman as it rounded off the match on a high note.

However, while Nancy may be tempted to keep the same lineup for the Hoops next match against Livingston, he must bring in Forrest after his superb performance from the bench.

James Forrest did not put a foot wrong against Aberdeen

Despite Celtic’s struggles this season, Forrest has managed to put in some solid displays this season.

After Celtic beat Falkirk 4-0 earlier this season, the 34-year-old’s performance led to widespread praise.

In one section, Cillian Sheridan told BBC Radio Scotland on 30 October, after the Falkirk game: “Forrest was brilliant. Back to his sharp self.”

Now, Forrest has continued to impress, with his cameo against Aberdeen arguably his best performance yet this season.

According to Fotmob on 22 December, the winger completed 100 per cent of his passes and created one chance.

He also managed to have two shots, one of which ended in the back of the net.

Forrest had a great game against Aberdeen

This was despite Forrest only being on the pitch for 20 minutes.

As a result, Nancy has to reward the Celtic legend with a start against Livingston.

Given how poor Saturday’s opponents have been in recent weeks, it would be a great opportunity to give other players a go, including Forrest.

Forrest continues insane goalscoring streak

Forrest’s goal against Aberdeen now means that he has now found the back of the net in 17 consecutive seasons at Celtic.

Last season, the winger became the first Hoops player since Paul McStay to net for 16 successive campaigns after his late goal on the final day against St. Mirren.

However, he has now extended this feat in what has been an extraordinary run.

Now, he will be hoping to add to his tally before the campaign is up as Celtic look to recover their title ambitions.
