Wilfried Nancy takes drastic action on social media after Celtic manager’s account is discovered
Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy has been the subject of further embarrassment after his social media account was discovered.
Nancy’s X account was found by Celtic fans on Tuesday, with the under-fire head coach posting a motivational quote.
The Bhoys have suffered three consecutive defeats since the Frenchman arrived, with frustrations already appearing to have come to a head.
Celtic are planning to back Nancy, despite the former Columbus Crew coach’s terrible start to life in Scotland.
But Nancy is under huge pressure at Celtic, and will surely need to lead his side to victory against Dundee United on Wednesday if he is to have any hope of turning the situation around.

Losses against Hearts and Roma were bad enough, although there was an acceptance among most fans that Nancy had been given just days to prepare his team for difficult opposition.
But after Celtic lost 3-1 to St. Mirren in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday, all sympathy was thrown out of the window.
Jonah Ayunga’s second-half brace saw the Bhoys fall to an embarrassing defeat, with many Celtic fans calling for Nancy to be sacked immediately.
Celtic results
Celtic 1-2 Hearts
Celtic 0-3 Roma
St. Mirren 3-1 Celtic
The 48-year-old has remained bullish in public, but will surely be feeling the intensifying pressure behind closed doors.
In a now-deleted post to X, Nancy posted a quote that read: “You’re not obligated to win. You’re obligated to keep trying. To the best you can do every day.”
Celtic fans found the post and reacted with a combination of laughter and anger, with many in disbelief that their head coach could be publicly attempting to motivate himself.
The biography section of Nancy’s account contains another motivational quote, one that reads: “The one who falls and gets up is stronger than the one who never tried. Do not fear failure but rather fear not trying.”
It is clear that the Frenchman is in no mood to give up at Celtic, although he has now made the move to make his social media account private, preventing anyone not on his followers list from seeing it.
Nancy maintains fighting mood despite Celtic pressure
Not many would have expected this situation to unfold as it has when Nancy arrived at Celtic less than two weeks ago.
The Frenchman was extremely highly rated in the MLS, and had take over a team on the back of five consecutive victories under interim head coach Martin O’Neill.
But Nancy now finds himself in a position in which just two or three negative results could lead to his departure already.
Speaking on Tuesday, the Celtic boss said: “I don’t have to prove anything for anybody. Simple as that. I have to just be coherent with my team and to do my job as the best as I can.
“And after that, I think that things will turn, not on my side, but it is going to be more positive.”
