William Saliba and Thomas Partey respond to Gabriel’s injury update to Arsenal fans

Gabriel Magalhaes gave Arsenal fans a reassuring update as he continues his recovery from injury.

Arsenal endured another frustrating campaign, finishing second for the third consecutive season and once again missing out on major silverware.

But on a personal level, Gabriel enjoyed a standout season. The Brazilian defender was a crucial part of Mikel Arteta’s backline, playing a key role in helping David Raya secure the Premier League’s Golden Glove with the most clean sheets.

His campaign was sadly cut short in April after Gabriel suffered a season-ending hamstring injury, forcing him to watch from the stands during Arsenal’s blockbuster Champions League ties against Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite the setback and a tough end to the season, Gabriel has now shared a positive update with supporters as he continues his recovery and looks ahead to the new campaign.

Gabriel shares rehab update after signing new Arsenal contract

The defender’s injury was a major blow for the Gunners, and his absence was especially felt during their Champions League semi-final defeat to PSG.

Despite the setback, he appeared positive on Instagram as he posted multiple photos from a gym session, showing himself hard at work in recovery.

His update received plenty of support from around the Premier League. Arsenal teammates William Saliba, Thomas Partey and Leandro Trossard were among those who liked the post, along with several other top-flight names.

Bruno Guimaraes, West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta and Joao Pedro — who has been linked with a move to Newcastle — also reacted to the post, showing their appreciation.

There had been some uncertainty over the Brazilian’s long-term future at the Emirates in recent months, with reports suggesting Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr were plotting a move for Gabriel this summer.

However, those rumours were put to bed after Gabriel signed a new contract with Arsenal earlier this month, extending his stay until 2029 and adding two more years to his previous deal.

Since arriving at the club in 2020, he has established himself as a vital part of Mikel Arteta’s backline, playing a key role in their rise to become one of the most competitive sides in both the Premier League and across Europe.

While Gabriel’s future is now secured, there is less clarity around Partey.

Arsenal fans are convinced Partey is set to leave as his contract is coming to an end this summer with Barcelona showing interest in the Ghanian.

While Arsenal have been in contract talks with Partey, no deal has been signed as of yet, fuelling speculation around his future amid the summer shake-up at the Emirates.
