Willian sends ‘big’ Fulham message as his full stats emerge

Fulham strengthened their position in the Premier League table with an important victory against Wolves on Tuesday (25 February).

Marco Silva’s men kickstarted the game in impressive fashion with a goal in the opening minute from Ryan Sessegnon, but Joao Gomes levelled things up for the Midlands giants in the 18th minute.

Fulham secured all three points after Rodrigo Muniz scored a match-winner early on in the second half to help push the team further up the table.

The victory allowed Fulham to climb into ninth place in the Premier League table as they continue to try and secure European football for next season.

The Londoners overtook Aston Villa and now sit just one point behind Brighton and Bournemouth as the race for European football is continuing to heat up.

Fulham will be back in action on Sunday (2 March) as they travel to Old Trafford to face Man United in the FA Cup.

Fulham fought off competition to re-sign Willian

Willian returned to Fulham on a short deal until the end of the season, but the Premier League side fought off competition to bring the experienced winger back to Craven Cottage.

Football Insider revealed Willian had numerous opportunities during the January transfer window, including a potentially lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.

There were also other Premier League clubs looking to sign the 36-year-old, but he chose to return to Fulham.
