Sources: Blackpool agree to sign Wolves winger Theo Corbeanu

Blackpool have agreed to sign Wolves winger Theo Corbeanu, sources have told Football Insider.

The 20-year-old has undergone a medical at Bloomfield Road and is set to sign in time for Saturday’s opening Championship game against Stoke.

Canada international Corbeanu is currently well down the pecking order in Bruno Lage’s side.

He had two spells on loan in League One last season at Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons.

The youngster has one year remaining on the deal he signed in October 2020.

He made his first and only senior outing for Wolves as a late substitute in a defeat to Tottenham in May last year.

Corbeanu will be looking to impress at Bloomfield Road to boost his chances of selection for Canada ahead of the World Cup in Qatar this winter.

He has played six times in total for the national team, with those appearances yielding two goals.

Wolves have already allowed youngsters Fabio Silva, Ki-Jana Hoever and Louie Moulden to leave on loan this summer.

Football Insider also revealed on Monday (25 July) that they have given the green light for 20-year-old midfielder Luke Cundle to join a new team on a temporary basis in 2022-23.

Michael Appleton meanwhile is looking to breathe new life into his Blackpool front three, with standout 2021-22 performer Josh Bowler potentially on the way out.

The 23-year-old wide man has been linked with Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Blackburn Rovers in recent weeks.
