Wolves fans rage at 31-year-old after what he did in 2-1 defeat to Liverpool
Wolves fans were furious with Sam Johnstone for his role in Ibrahima Konate’s goal against Liverpool.
The Midlands club were defeated 2-1 at home against the Reds, with Konate’s first-half header and a Mohamed Salah penalty being the difference between the two sides.
The defeat continued Wolves’ winless start to the 2024-25 campaign, leaving Gary O’Neil’s team bottom of the league despite Rayan Ait-Nouri’s equaliser in the second half.
However, it was the 31-year-old goalkeeper that Wolves fans weren’t happy with in regards to the game’s opening goal.
The Liverpool defender won a header that snuck underneath Johnstone, leaving Wolves fans to believe he could have done better.
Johnstone had made a point-blank save earlier in the game against Luis Diaz, but his mistake proved to be costly.

Johnstone was signed from Crystal Palace for £10million during the summer transfer window, but after his mistake fans have questioned if he was worth the price.
