Wolves fans rip into the ‘worst signing in our history’ after what he did vs Aston Villa
Wolves supporters have heavily criticised Jhon Arias online in the wake of their 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa following yet another poor performance.
Wolves slipped to a seventh straight defeat on Sunday (30 November) as high-flying Aston Villa won 1-0 on home turf in a controversy-filled encounter.
Rob Edwards‘ side thought they had taken the lead early on, but Jorgen Strand Larsen‘s opener was ruled out, and they were made to pay in the second-half as Boubacar Kamara struck a fine winner.
They are almost already resigned to relegation now, with no wins in any of their first 13 games and a nine-point gap to West Ham in 17th.
Jhon Arias has struggled at Wolves since his summer move from Fluminense, and those issues continued on Sunday as he was at fault for their disallowed goal and could have been sent off.

Jhon Arias was centre of attention vs Villa for all the wrong reasons
Wolves had not scored in the Premier League since 26 October, and so Strand Larsen’s early strike would have been a real boost for them considering Villa’s stellar recent home form.
The linesman immediately raised his flag, however, with the Colombian forward deemed to be in Emi Martinez’s line of sight of the ball before it hit the back of the net.
Villa then took the lead in the second-half, and the Arias could have been sent off for a tackle on scorer Kamara as he nearly let his emotions get the better of him in the 77th minute.
His challenge was checked by VAR and deemed to be “reckless” by referee Chris Kavanagh, but he was luckily only given a yellow card and stayed on the pitch.
Arias failed to create a chance in the 88 minutes he played, while he also had just two touches in the Villa box and won only two of his seven attempted ground duels (29%) on a dismal day for him and his club.
Wolves fans slate Arias for an all-round poor showing vs Villa
Arias cost Wolves £15million in the summer window and was meant to be a direct replacement for Man United-bound Matheus Cunha, but his move has certainly not worked out as yet.
One fan took to X after the Villa loss to highlight just how bad they feel he has been, saying: “The worst signing in the history of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Fair play Jhon Arias. That is some achievement.”
Another added: “Jhon Arias is genuinely a worst pound for Pound signing than Cutrone. Absolute garbage,” while one said: “Arias is shocking man, never where he needs to be, drops deep offers nothing then when we turn over he’s not there to support the attack.”
