Wolves fans will be fuming at latest Rob Edwards snub as Molineux ‘prodigy’ heads for January exit

Enso Gonzalez has not had a sniff of first-team football for Wolves this season despite their woeful attacking output.

The winger came into Molineux in 2023 and was thought to be the next big thing.

While injuries have delayed his development, the young Paraguayan is now fit and competing well in the academy.

Yet, despite Wolves’ awful attack this season, which has only produced nine Premier League goals, Rob Edwards looks set to green-light a January exit.

Wolves to consider Enso Gonzalez January loan after multiple enquiries

According to AS on 15 December, Wolves are considering loaning out Gonzalez this January.

The Old Gold club have received multiple enquiries about his availability from clubs in Spain and Turkey.

However, if this goes through, it is nothing short of baffling.

Gonzalez, who is described as a “prodigy” in the report, could easily other a significant threat before the end of the season.

Mateus Mane proved on Saturday that the Wolves’ younger players have a lot to offer, as the attacker picked up an assist after a delicious cross to Tolu Arokodare in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Given that Gonzalez will be aiming to get into the World Cup squad with Paraguay in the summer, the winger would no doubt give it his all in Wolves’ first-team to try and get selected.

Yet, Edwards continues to snub the 20-year-old, something that Wolves fans should be fuming with.

Wolves set for miserable January

With relegation almost a guarantee, Wolves are now set for a miserable January.

Edwards’ side are likely to focus on sales at Molineux as they prepare for the Championship, with any hope of staying up all but gone.

The hope for supporters will be that the manager will still have a side capable of beating Derby County’s record-low 11 points.

However, as the wait for a win goes on, Edwards looks less and less likely to achieve this task.
