Wolves hierarchy’s stance on Gary O’Neil sacking revealed – sources
Wolves hierarchy are set to back Gary O’Neil to turn things around after a difficult start to the season, sources have told Football Insider.
The Midlands club are currently bottom of the Premier League after making a winless start in the opening five matches.
Wolves have picked up one point so far after a draw against Nottingham Forest and have also been knocked out of the EFL Cup.
However, sources have told Football Insider that the club’s decision-makers are not in panic just yet.
The club are just one win away from getting out of the relegation zone if other results go in their favour.
The 41-year-old will have to guide his team against Liverpool, Brentford, and Man City in their next three fixtures.
Wolves will demand improvements from Gary O’Neil
Even though the club are set to back O’Neil as the man in charge, the hierarchy want to see an improvement in terms of their results.
O’Neil signed a four-year contract at Molineux last month, committing his long-term future to the club.
The former Bournemouth boss guided Wolves to a 14th-place finish during the previous campaign.

Wolves were raided during the summer transfer window, which saw the club lose two top stars in Max Kilman and Pedro Neto.
The Midlands club will face Liverpool in their next fixture this Saturday (28 September).
