‘Wolves to buy out lucrative Rayan Ait-Nouri clause as Man City move beckons’
Wolves are expected to complete a transaction of their own amid Manchester City’s interest in Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Pep Guardiola will be keen to enjoy a successful summer transfer window as Man City failed to launch a title challenge after previously winning four consecutive Premier Leagues.
Meanwhile, Ait-Nouri enjoyed a successful campaign for Wolves, notching four goals and seven assists in the top flight from the left-wing-back position.
He has made over 130 appearances for the West Midlands side since joining from Angers permanently in the summer of 2021, having previously been on loan with the Premier League club.

Wolves set to buy out Angers’ 50% sell-on clause for Ait-Nouri
The Algeria international’s most recent goal arrived when he scored in a 4-2 win over Tottenham on 13 April.
Meanwhile, writing on BBC Sport’s live Q&A blog [2 June, 1.23pm], Nick Mashiter said: “Adding a bit more meat on the bones to any possible move to Manchester City for Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri.
“There has yet to be any direct club-to-club contact for the left-back, but all parties are aware of City’s interest.
“Wolves are unlikely to stand in the 23-year-old’s way, despite wanting to keep him, after almost five years at Molineux.
“They will, of course, look to get the best deal they can and have the option to buy out Angers’ 50 per cent sell-on from the permanent deal with brought Ait-Nouri to Wolves in 2021. That is expected to be a formality.”
Alongside their interest in the Wolves man, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Man City want to sign Tyler Dibling from Southampton.

Wolves agree deal to sign Bristol City defender
Wolves have sold Matheus Cunha to Manchester United, and could now be set to lose Ait-Nouri to Man City, leaving Vitor Pereira with plenty of work to do in the transfer window.
Rayan Ait-Nouri stats | Premier League 2024/25 |
Appearances | 37 |
Goals | 4 |
Assists | 7 |
Next season will mark Pereira’s first full campaign in the Molineux dugout, while the £62.5million release clause they received for Cunha will help the West Midlands club reshape their squad.
However, the Brazil international performed exceptionally for Wolves this term, notching 15 goals and six assists in 33 Premier League appearances.
Cunha’s exit, therefore, leaves Pereira with a big void to fill, and the same could be said of Ait-Nouri if he leaves Molineux in favour of a move to the Etihad Stadium.
Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Wolves have agreed to sign Ashton Williams from Bristol City.
Williams has not made a senior appearance for the Robins, but the 16-year-old’s performances for the Championship club’s academy have caught the eye.
