Wolves star Mario Lemina bids farewell to football as he swipes at Rodri
Wolves midfielder Mario Lemina has aimed a social media dig at Man City star Rodri after his Ballon d’Or win.
The 28-year-old Spaniard became the first Premier League player to win football’s most prestigious individual award since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008.
Real Madrid were left furious with the outcome as Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham finished in second and third place, respectively.
The Spanish giants decided to boycott the ceremony in Paris on Monday (October 28) despite being named Men’s Club of the Year and manager Carlo Ancelotti winning the Coach of the Year award.
Rodri suffered only one loss last season—the FA Cup final to Erik ten Hag’s Man United—while securing the Premier League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup titles with City.
He then guided Spain to Euro 2024 glory but was ultimately forced off at half-time due to injury in their 2-1 victory over England in the final.

Vinicius, 24, played a pivotal role for Real Madrid last season, scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists as they secured a memorable La Liga and Champions League double.
While his club have faltered, losing 4-0 to Barcelona in the first El Classico of the season, the Brazilian winger has impressed, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in all competitions so far this season.
In a now-deleted post, Lemina, 31, was unhappy with the outcome and took to Instagram to voice his frustrations, claiming that Vinicius is the best player in the world.

Lemina picked up a knock in Wolves’ last-gasp 2-2 Premier League draw with Brighton on Saturday (October 26).
