Wolves tipped to make Premier League history – ’This is quite a feat’
Wolves will struggle to beat Derby County’s record low Premier League points tally if their current form continues.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who insists Wolves fans are not getting value for money for their season ticket.
Wolves’ 2-1 defeat at Arsenal leaves Rob Edwards’ side bottom of the Premier League table with just two points from 16 games.
Vitor Pereira was sacked as Wolves boss in November, but Edwards has been unable to turn around results, with the former Middlesborough boss having lost every game in charge of the club so far.
Wolves ‘know the situation going forward’
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Wolves only have one target left for the remainder of the season.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness gave his verdict on Wolves’ most expensive season ticket costing £939.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Well, I think I read the other day, and I’ve got to give credit to The Athletic for this, is that £939 if you’re looking for pounds per point, you got one point for your £939 because the other point Wolves have got was from an away game, so you didn’t get it in your season ticket.
“That’s a very expensive point and, of course, we all know the situation going forward now is going to be, you know, can they beat the 11 points that were Derby’s record before?
“And it’s going to be quite a feat for them to do that, the way it looks right now. So yes, it’s not great value.”

Wolves set for long rebuild project
It could take Wolves a decade to rebuild the club back from the Championship to the Premier League, amid their likely relegation to the second tier.
Edwards was brought in with next season in mind, with the 42-year-old having previously won the play-offs with Luton Town.
The Old Gold have not played in the Championship since the 2017-18 season, when they won the league under now West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
