Wolves tipped to sell Traore to Tottenham after update – pundit

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Wolves are ready to sell Adama Traore to Tottenham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted Wolves will be happy to offload Traore, especially for £40million.

Football Insider first revealed back in April that the Midlands club top priority this summer was finding a buyer for the winger.

The Telegraph reported on 23 August that Spurs are poised to launch a loan bid for Traore with a view to a £40million permanent deal.

The Spain international featured against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side at the weekend but failed to make a significant impact.

He has just five goal contributions since the beginning of last season.

Asked whether that could improve playing with better players in north London, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Not for me, no.

“He plays with good players at Wolves. He gets in great positions then picks the wrong cross and doesn’t find the player.

“He’s not the right player that I would go for if I was Spurs. They’ve got Lucas Moura, they’ve got Heung-min Son who are very quick wingers and they’ve got Harry Kane in there. They’ve got Steven Bergwijn in there too.

“I would go for another striker maybe, or a number 10. They need to look at other players.

“If I was Wolves, I’d sell him. He’s an outstanding player on his day but it’s about stats. It’s about scoring goals, it’s about creating goals.

“It’s not about taking four or five players on and playing the wrong pass. The manager would rather you take on one player and make a pass that creates a goal.

“£40million would be a good fee, too, and I can see that happening.”

In other news, there is “no question” where Harr Kane will be on 31 August after latest Tottenham update.
