Helder Costa is keen on a move to the Premier League amid strong interest from Liverpool, according to a report.
The Sun claim the Wolves winger could switch from Molineux to the top flight after only a season in the Championship.
It is said that Wolves are ready to authorise what would be a sensational departure given that Costa only completed a £13million transfer from Benfica last month.
Costa, 23, joined the Midlands club initially on loan at the start of the season and has made a big impact, scoring 10 goals and supplying eight assists in 33 matches in all competitions.
The Sun report that Costa’s representatives from Jorge Mendes-owned agency Gestifute will push hard for their club to move to a Premier League club if a bid is tabled.
Football Insider verdict:
When it comes to buying wingers from a club who have torn Liverpool’s defence apart, Klopp has form. Sadio Mane was prised from Southampton for a £30million-plus fee after destroying Liverpool at St Mary’s Stadium last season. Costa also took Klopp’s back line – albeit second string – to the cleaners in Wolves’ FA Cup win at Anfield last month as he gave further notice of his immense potential. The Portugese is one of the outstanding attackers in the second tier and it is hard to see how Wolves can hang on to him if he pushes hard for a transfer at the end of the season.
In the latest Wolves news, Mick McCarthy gives his verdict on where his ex-club will finish this season.
