Wolves warned one thing ‘would become infinitely more difficult’ upon relegation amid John Textor interest
Wolves’ position in the Premier League is already perilous and relegation to the Championship could severely damage them off the pitch.
Vitor Pereira faces the sack at Wolves, with the club yet to win a Premier League game this season, with just two points accumulated from nine matches.
Pereira clashed with Wolves supporters following their 3-2 defeat against Burnley, with tensions rising at the club.
Wolves face Fulham next in another huge Premier League clash, with the Cottagers just six points above the Old Gold in the table.

Jeff Shi departure could ‘lighten the mood’ at Wolves
In recent days, John Textor has begun exploring a move to buy Wolves and end Fosun’s nine year ownership.
As per the Daily Mail, [29 October], it is unlikely the Fosun group will sell the club, but finding investors would be easier in the Premier League than the Championship.
“If Shi steps aside, it would surely lighten the mood a little,” the Daily Mail reported.
“During Shi’s near-decade as chairman, Wolves have had some of their greatest results of modern times and this is their eighth consecutive season in the Premier League. He was at the helm when players like Moutinho, Jimenez, Ruben Neves, Pedro Neto, Diogo Jota and Cunha shone in Old Gold.
“Wolves made substantial profits from players they signed in the first half of the Fosun era. Even in leaner days, that must not be disregarded.
“Yet with Shi or without him, Fosun do not currently intend to leave the stage. Amid reports of a takeover bid by John Textor, Fosun’s position is that they would welcome only minority investment, and not a full sale.
“Minority investors are hard enough to find as a non-elite Premier League club. In the Championship, that would become infinitely more difficult.”

Vitor Pereira replacement named
Brendan Rodgers could become the Wolves manager if Pereira is sacked following his dramatic Celtic exit.
Rodgers last managed Leicester City in the Premier League, when he was sacked in April 2023 before the Foxes eventually were relegated to the Championship.
| Games Managed | 204 |
| Games Won | 92 |
| Games Drawn | 42 |
| Games Lost | 70 |
In his four years in charge though, Rodgers led Leicester to FA Cup success and two top five finishes.
Rodgers will want to be backed at Wolves following his constant frustration this season at Celtic at a lack of transfer activity to address issues in the squad.
