By Alex Stevens

Chris Wood is in the Leeds squad for Saturday’s Championship clash against Reading.

The prolific striker, who tops the division scoring charts with 24 goals this season and has struck 27 times in all competitions, was filmed arriving at the Madejski Stadium with the rest of the Leeds players 90 minutes before kick-off.

The official Leeds Twitter account released a video at 4pm on Saturday that showed Wood has shaken off the effects of the injury he sustained on international duty to travel to Reading.

Manager Garry Monk had said at his media conference on Thursday that he was hopeful Wood would be fit after returning early from his spell with the New Zealand national team.

The 25-year-old is likely to be named in the starting XI as he aims to continue the outstanding form that has put him in the running for the Championship player of the year gong.

It remains to be seen if Monk will be stick with the team that played so impressively in the 2-0 win against Brighton before the international break.

Pontus Jansson was a shock omission from the side a fortnight ago but could be recalled to the central defence in place of Liam Cooper.

In other Leeds transfer news, the club have sealed an out-of-window midfielder transfer.
