'Worst footballer I have ever seen in a Leeds shirt' - Fans have huge doubts over £500K signing
By Richard Parks
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express their doubts about Caleb Ekuban ahead of their team’s Championship clash against Fulham on Tuesday night.
The striker 24, scored his first league goal for United on Friday in the 2-1 win against Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road.
It came in Ekuban’s 15th appearance for Leeds, and 14th in the Championship, since he joined last summer from Chievo for a fee reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post to be £500,000.
The Ghanian-born spearhead has started each of the club’s last three league matches despite his lack of success in front of goal, with manager Paul Heckingbottom appearing to put great store into his mobility and work rate.
However, Leeds supporters are unconvinced by the calibre of the player and believe his enthusiasm alone is not enough to succeed at such an elite club.

If we want promotion personally I don’t think he should be playing yes he’s good for that but he can’t score we need a goal scorer to compete

People talking of Ekuban ONLY needing to work on his finishing. By 24 you can either find the back of the net or you can’t. #lufc

Imagine replacing Chris Wood with Ekuban and Lassoga #lufc

Should Ekuban have left the field with the match ball yesterday? Yes. Is he good enough to be a starter for #lufc next season? I’ve my doubts. Does he work hard for the team, giving his all? Yes.
In other Leeds United news, the club are working on a deal to sign an English centre-back who has been the best in the league this season.
