‘Worst I’ve seen him play’ – Man United fans fume at Bruno Fernandes after what he did vs Everton

Man United fans were furious with Bruno Fernandes’ display on Monday in their 1-0 win against Everton.

Benjamin Sesko made the difference at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the end as he came off the bench to score the winner for the Red Devils and return them to winning ways.

However, for much of the match, the Toffees were the better side, with Man United on the back foot.

As a result, many of Michael Carrick’s players were poor, including Fernandes, with the travelling fans furious with his performance.

For years, Fernandes has been Man United’s main man in the side, and has often bailed the team out of numerous poor performances.

However, against Everton, the attacking midfielder simply did not turn up and struggled to make any type of impact.

With Champions League qualification on the line, it was vital that Carrick’s side picked up three points, and while this was achieved in the end, it was not thanks to the 31-year-old’s efforts.

As a result, many Man United fans took to X to slam Fernandes’ performance despite the victory at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

How bad was Fernandes vs Everton?

According to Fotmob on 23 February, Fernandes certainly had a game to forget.

The midfielder only completed 78 per cent of his passes, did not create one chance, and only managed one shot, with that flying off target.

On top of this, he failed to complete a single cross and only completed 50 per cent of his dribbles.

Therefore, for a player of Fernandes’ quality, this was simply not good enough, especially in an important game against Everton.

In many ways, the attacking midfielder is lucky that Sesko managed to bail him out, as a defeat or a draw could have seen further scrutiny thrown towards the captain.

However, it remains to be seen if this is just a one-off bad display or if Fernandes will be able to bounce back for Man United’s next fixture.

Next up, Carrick’s side will face Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, as they look to cement themselves inside the top four in the Premier League, with Chelsea and Liverpool hot on their tail.
