‘Worst player I’ve ever laid my eyes on’ – Chelsea fans savage Raheem Sterling after 2-0 win over Sheffield United

Chelsea fans were quick to criticise Raheem Sterling’s performance despite their 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues have climbed up to 10th in the Premier League table after goals from Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson secured their sixth win of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side started slowly at Stamford Bridge against bottom-placed United and entered the half-time break goalless after a number of chances were missed.

Despite regularly playing on the left flank this season, Sterling started Saturday’s clash on the right to accommodate Mykhailo Mudryk in the starting lineup.

However, both wide players struggled to make an impact and were eventually substituted by Pochettino for Enzo Fernandez and Armando Broja.

Sterling has scored six times in 19 appearances across all competitions in 2023/24, but the England international looked wasteful against the Blades.

Chelsea fans on social media were full of criticism for the 29-year-old despite the win.

One supporter believes Sterling will go down as one of the worst signings ever made by the London club.

This fan took the criticism a step further, calling the England international the ‘worst player I’ve ever laid my eyes on’.

Parts of the Chelsea fanbase want to see Sterling sold in the upcoming January window after his disappointing performance.

Perhaps a deal to the Saudi Pro League is an option for the Blues.
