‘Wouldn’t get a game in a Sunday League’ – Celtic fans rage at one player especially after his display vs Rangers

Celtic were humiliated on Saturday as Rangers produced a bewildering 3-1 comeback to shock Wilfried Nancy’s side.

With Nancy already under pressure at Celtic Park, his time may now be set to come to an end as he suffered his sixth defeat in eight matches.

Despite a wonderful first-half display where the hosts made Rangers look average, they were unable to carrying his dominance into the second period.

Plenty of Hoops stars were simply atrocious in an embarrassing afternoon for the Old Firm outfit. However, fans were quick to highlight just how bad Anthony Ralston was throughout the match.

Celtic fans have seen enough of Anthony Ralston

It was questionable enough that Celtic opted to play Ralston in the Old Firm derby, considering his recent performances.

Ralston has been dire under Nancy, and has done little to prove why he should remain in the starting XI.

However, the Frenchman has opted to stick with the defender, which once again proved to be a massive mistake against Rangers.

The Scotsman gave the ball away in the build-up to the Gers’ second, and now, fans have seen enough of the 27-year-old.

Supporters were also pointing the finger at Nancy, who has persisted with the defender despite numerous performances suggesting that he is out of his depth.

How bad was Ralston against Rangers?

It’s fair to say that Ralston put in another embarrassing Celtic display on Saturday.

According to Fotmob on 3 January, the defender barely did anything right throughout.

Not only did he produce an error that led to a goal, but he also only won 50 per cent of his aerial duels and was dribbled past once.

Anthony Ralston’s stats vs Rangers
Minutes 88
Passing accuracy 86%
Errors that led to goals1
Accurate long balls 38%
Aerial duels won 50%
Dribbled past 1
Ralston did not have a good game against Rangers

As a result, it is hard to see how he remains in the Celtic lineup going forward, no matter what happens with Nancy.

The defender is clearly out of form and incapable of meeting the high expectations at the Glasgow club. Therefore, changes need to be made immediately if the Hoops are to get anything out of this season.

Hopefully, this will begin next weekend against Dundee United.
