‘Wow’, ‘Absolute clown’ – Leeds fans berate Jesse Marsch after manager sack claim

Leeds United fans have berated former boss Jesse Marsch for his shock comments about his sacking.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the American manager accused former chairman Andrea Radrizzani of “losing his nerve” with his progress at Elland Road and was adamant that he was taking the side in the right direction.

He blasted the Italian, who sold his stake in the club to the 49ers Enterprises for £170millon this summer, and claimed the blame for the Whites’ relegation was solely his fault.

Marsch was let go by the Whites in February and left the club in 17th place before being replaced by Javi Gracia, who lasted barely over two months before Sam Allardyce took over.

Supporters grew frustrated with the dreadful performances under his management, which saw him win 11 Premier League games in just under a year at the club and which was pivotal to their eventual relegation to the Championship.

A seven-game winless run in the Premier League preceded his departure, with a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest proving the final nail in his coffin.

In light of the 50-year-old’s explosive interview, fans have taken to social media to blast him as a “clown”.
