'Wow...' - Exclusive: Campbell amazed by Leeds player who's insanely good
Kevin Campbell compared “brilliant” Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips to Cesc Fabregas after his performance against Chelsea.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Arsenal and Everton forward is adamant fans “would be going crazy” if Kevin De Bruyne or Fabregas had produced an assist similar to his on Saturday.
The 24-year-old produced a perfectly weighted pass with his weaker left-foot to assist Patrick Bamford’s opener at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
It was the holding-midfielder’s second assist in eight Premier League appearances this season.
Phillips has been one of Leeds’ standout performers since returning to the top flight and was sorely missed while sidelined with a shoulder injury at the back end of October.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the England international’s assist and performance on Saturday, Campbell said: “Wow… It was a great pass.

“Kalvin Phillips is so underrated in that holding midfield role. He has great vision and he is a good passer.
“What a great spot for that Patrick Bamford goal. Spotting the run is one thing, executing the pass is another. Bamford will have been so pleased that it was put on a plate for him.
Disappointing result but lots of positives to take from the game. Roll on Friday night back under the lights at Elland Road 💙💛 pic.twitter.com/UPHwzan7Ny

“Phillips is an England international now and it does not surprise me that he can produce moments of brilliance like that.
“People would be going crazy if it was a De Bruyne or Fabregas so he deserves all the praise.”
